Why did Ocala Healthcare change to Ocala Recruitment?

How did Ocala Healthcare start?

Adam and Sam have years of experience working as home care assistants and agency care workers. Adam worked as a home care coordinator before falling into recruitment, and Sam worked as a home care manager until also falling into recruitment.

It was in recruitment that Adam and Sam met. I think it is often felt by people working in care that care workers are undervalued and unappreciated for the work they do. It was during Adam and Sam’s time working in recruitment that they learnt the cause and started to create a vision of how they could change it.

In 2017, Adam and Sam quit their jobs and started Ocala Healthcare. A recruitment agency that would have robust recruitment processes to ensure quality care, put integrity back into recruitment, and above all value and appreciate carers for outstanding care of our most vulnerable people.

Ocala Healthcare started as a care agency with the ambition to change our little corner of the world in Suffolk.

Why the change to Ocala Recruitment?

During the pandemic, Ocala Healthcare were invited by recommendation to support the local authority as a care provider in an emergency need. We had completed our Care Quality Commission registration a couple of years before to show our policies and procedures meet the same standards expected of all care homes.

In difficult circumstances we performed well and built a reputation for quality care and service within the local authority. This has led to us being asked to provide more services and we found that we take great pride in being able to positively impact people care directly and helping improve people’s lives.

Therefore, we have been providing both agency care services and care provider services as Ocala Recruitment.

Both services are very different, and both need completely different input to ensure that they deliver the best service possible.

So, we have decided that the recruitment services would be much better placed to operate as a separate business. This is why we have created Ocala Recruitment.

What benefits will this change bring to clients and carers?

One of the benefits will be that other than a change in business name there is almost no change!

You will still be dealing with Adam, Sam, Courtney, and Primrose in the office. Our agency care team has TUPED over to Ocala Recruitment, so that care homes and their residents still receive the same care workers.

What this change will mean is that there is a complete separation of the two services. Which means Ocala Recruitment can continue its journey to improve agency care services without considering the impact on Ocala Healthcare.

That for me is the biggest benefit, allowing us to focus on what we set out to do in the first place, and that is to create a recruitment agency that would have robust recruitment processes to ensure quality care, put integrity back into recruitment, and above all value and appreciate carers for outstanding care of our most vulnerable people.
